Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive shingle roof replacement project in Port Charlotte, Florida, involving two separate buildings. Both roofs required complete removal of the existing shingles due to age and wear. The project included addressing underlying wood damage to ensure a structurally sound base for the new roofing system. The homeowners now have durable, beautiful, and warrantied roofs.
Work Performed
Our team began by removing the old shingles down to the wood decking on both buildings. We replaced 24 sheets of rotted plywood. We then re-nailed the existing decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current building codes. A new peel and stick underlayment was installed to provide enhanced protection and qualify the homeowners for insurance discounts. New lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, valley metal, and upgraded Cobra ridge vents were also installed to complete the roofing system. Finally, GAF Timberline HDZ high wind rated shingles, known for their 154mph wind resistance rating and lifetime warranty, were installed across both buildings. Step sealing was completed around all penetrations.
