Team Armored Roofing recently completed a full shingle roof replacement for a home in Port Charlotte, Florida. The project involved removing the existing worn roof down to the wood deck and replacing it with a brand new, high-performance roofing system. The homeowners now have a beautiful and durable roof protecting their home from the elements, built to withstand the Florida climate.
Work Performed
Our team meticulously removed the old shingles and addressed any damaged wood decking, replacing up to 5 sheets of plywood to ensure a solid base. We then re-nailed the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code. A full peel and stick underlayment was installed to qualify the homeowner for insurance discounts, followed by new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, and flashing at all tie-ins and valleys. The roof was finished with Timberline HDZ high wind rated shingles and an upgraded Omni ridge vent for superior attic ventilation.
