Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive roof replacement project for a home in Palm Harbor, Florida. The project involved replacing both a shingle roof section and a smaller flat roof area. We removed the old roofing materials, addressed underlying wood damage, and installed new, high-quality roofing systems to ensure long-lasting protection against the elements.
Work Performed
The shingle roof replacement involved removing the existing shingles down to the wood deck, replacing five sheets of plywood due to rot, and re-nailing the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet code. We then installed a peel-and-stick underlayment for enhanced protection and insurance discounts, new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal. Finally, we installed new Timberline lifetime GAF HDZ high wind rated shingles and upgraded cobra ridge vents for proper attic ventilation. For the flat roof section, we removed the existing roof, replaced any damaged wood, installed a peel-and-stick base sheet with perimeter stripping, and installed a new CertainTeed modified torch-down roofing system.
