Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive roofing project in New Port Richey, Florida, involving the replacement of both a shingle roof and a flat roof, along with new aluminum soffit and fascia. The existing roofs were showing their age, prompting the homeowner to seek a complete upgrade for enhanced protection and curb appeal. This project required careful attention to detail to ensure proper installation and long-term durability, especially given Florida's weather conditions.
Work Performed
The shingle roof replacement involved a complete tear-off down to the wood decking. Any rotten wood was replaced before re-nailing the decking with 8D ring shank nails. New peel-and-stick underlayment was installed, followed by new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal. The homeowners chose GAF HDZ Timberline high wind rated shingles, known for their 154 mph wind rating and lifetime warranty. The flat roof was updated with a CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system atop a new tapered system created with tapered boards attached with 3 inch plates and screws every 16 inches. To complete the project, new aluminum soffit and fascia were installed, using screws and aluminum nails with custom mitered corners.
