Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive roofing project in Longboat Key, Florida, involving the installation of a new standing seam metal roof and a modified bitumen flat roof system. The existing roof was removed, and any damaged or rotten wood decking was replaced to ensure a solid foundation for the new roofing systems. The project also included addressing a tapered system to meet building codes. The new roofs provide enhanced protection and aesthetic appeal to the homeowner's property.
Work Performed
The scope of work began with removing the existing roof down to the wood decking. We then replaced any compromised wood and re-nailed the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current building codes. For the standing seam metal roof, we installed a high-temperature peel and stick underlayment, followed by new drip edge, valley metal, pipe covers, and vents. The new standing seam metal roofing system utilizes a TM LOCK SYSTEM with 16" wide panels and 1" seams. For the flat roof, we installed a peel and stick base sheet and a CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system and tapered boards to meet building code.
