Team Armored Roofing recently completed a full shingle roof replacement in Holiday, Florida, addressing the homeowner's need for a durable and reliable roofing system. The original roof was showing signs of wear and age, prompting a complete tear-off and replacement. Our team ensured the new roof met all current building codes and provided long-lasting protection against the Florida elements. This project also included a small flat roof replacement on the front of the home.
Work Performed
The project began with the removal of the existing shingle roof down to the wood decking. Any damaged or rotten wood was replaced, and the decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to ensure code compliance. We then installed a peel and stick underlayment for enhanced protection and potential insurance discounts. New Timberline lifetime GAF HDZ high wind rated shingles were installed, along with new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal. To improve attic ventilation, upgraded cobra ridge vents were added and supplemented with additional vents. We also replaced a 1 sq ft section of the flat roof at the front of the house with a CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system.
