This project required a comprehensive repair to prevent further water damage and ensure the integrity of the roof system. The scope of work involved several key steps to rectify the chimney and cricket issues. First, we carefully removed the existing siding, shingles, and deteriorated flashing from the cricket behind the chimney. We then installed new wall flashing, valley metal, and peel-and-stick underlayment for enhanced waterproofing. The cricket was then properly re-flashed and shingled, carefully tied into the existing roof. Finally, we measured the chimney and fabricated a custom chimney cap with a 3-inch lip, ensuring a proper fit over the new siding and effective flashing.
