Team Armored Roofing recently completed a roof repair project in Tampa, Florida, addressing significant damage to a shingle roof structure. The existing roof exhibited cracked rafters, broken wood, and missing shingles, compromising the roof's integrity and ability to protect the home from the elements. Our team meticulously repaired the damaged area, ensuring a durable and watertight solution using high-quality materials.
Work Performed
The repair involved removing the damaged shingles and excavating the broken wood above the cracked rafters. We then installed four new 2x4 rafters extending from the top to the wall, ensuring proper support and reinforcement. These new rafters were secured with strapping where needed and a 2x4 header at the top for added protection. To match the existing roof deck, 3/4” plywood decking was installed, followed by new peel-and-stick underlayment and new shingles carefully matched to the existing shingles. A new 2x4 fascia was added at the overhang where the new decking extends.
